The bitter cold of winter is upon us. While Deadlands is not the best tool to keep us warm the trail guide will keep us from dying. This week Pinnacle releases the Weird White North treading into places close to home (for me). Will your players survive the long winter?
Trail Guide: Weird White North is your guide to terror in the tundra! With additional setting rules for the bitterest cold, a mini-Plot Point Campaign stretching back to the 1600s, a frozen boatload of Savage Tales, and the coldest, creepiest critters Canada can conjure, Weird White North has everything you need to take your Deadlands game farther north than ever before, well beyond where saner men would stop.
Discover what lies buried beneath the ice of ages in Alaska and British Columbia. Witness Canada’s fantastic Winterline hold the most frigid force of Mother Nature at bay. Become embroiled in a struggle as old as the cold itself.
So, how about it, hombre? You got what it takes to survive in a place where distances start at “vast” and temperatures top out at “deadly”? There’s only one way to find out-get your copy of Trail Guide: Weird White North today!

Unfortunately we didn’t have time to contribute to this issue of Savage Insider eZine but we’re looking forward to the issue nonetheless. I’ve always been interested in teaching people how to roleplay, and the thought of using roleplaying as an Educational Tool sounds extremely interesting. Check out the free issue now.
Savage Insider Issue 2: How the Dice Roll is all about what the community does with their gaming. The pillar article, Savage Worlds as an Educational Tool, takes a look how to turn role-playing games into a tool for homeschooling.
How the Dice Roll is a cross-genre issue with content covering fantasy, sci-fi, and horror along with supporting general interest articles.
Issue 2 includes the following:
3 fleshed out adversaries
9 new weapons
A Savage Insider exclusive add-on for Beasts & Barbarians
Part 2 of the Crypt of the Crystal Lich fiction series

Savage Licenses
RedBrick: the Newest Savage Licensee
It is always exciting to see new licensees take up the Savage mantle. RedBrick is the makers of many RPG’s games already and I’m sure that their line will add some excellent choices to the Savage line.
From Pinnacle:
RedBrick publishes game products for FASA’s Earthdawn™ and Demonworld™ fantasy games, Holistic Design’s Fading Suns™ space fantasy game, and Biohazard Games’ Blue Planet™ science fiction game, as well as RedBrick’s forthcoming Equinox™ space fantasy game.

Here is the news from last week:
2011 ENnie Voting Open!
Voting opened for the 2011 ENnies, and the voting page is now live! Savage Worlds is being represented by three products in four categories.
Pinnacle summed up the Savage Worlds entries pretty nicely:
Space 1889: Red Sands has been nominated for both Best Setting and Best Supplement. This was a labor of love for us at Pinnacle, bringing Frank Chadwick’s classic Space 1889 setting to the Savage Worlds rules, and it’s especially gratifying to see it get two nominations.
Shanghai Vampocalypse from Savage Mojo has been nominated for Best Electronic Book as well. Savage Mojo is a long-time licensee, and Shanghai Vampocalypse continues their Suzerain setting. It’s nice to see recognition for ongoing support and line depth, and we look forward to seeing their setting continue to grow.
That’s right in case you missed the post a little over a week ago, we’re nominated for an ENnie! We would be honored if you voted for us for Best Electronic Product. If you wanted to add us to your Fan Favorite Publisher, we’d be ecstatic. Please spread the word!

Personally I’m a bit excited for these, but I’m a huge reader of novels. As I recently received a Kindle for Christmas, I’ve been gathering ebooks like I’m building a nest out of ‘em. With Pinnacle announcing the release of these novels and their impending Kindle/iBookstore/Nook/Sony Reader releases, I’m excited to pick these up and enjoy their stories.
The second part of The Legend of Kyla Kidd finds our heroine searching the oceans, jungles, and towns of Caribdus for the trail of her long-lost father-and his mysterious treasure!
