Keryhk Nhor, the Great Western Hall and source of great pride to the Dwarven Empire, was sealed and has not been opened since. That is, until today. June Savage Sixth | The Savage Sixth
A new month has come around, and so has a new Savage Sixth. There are only two posts this month, a new Necessary Evil character, and a review of Weird War II.
New House Rules on Savagepedia | Savagepedia
Recently, user dugfromthearth has posted some of his house rules. The most interesting of which are his Cleave edge and some modified called shots.
From the Forums to You | PEGInc Forums
The rumblings continue. Something dark is stirring beneath the Internet. The latest signs include a discussion on mixing various settings and toolkits together like peanut butter and chocolate, or sea urchin and cookies. Do you need Cyberpunk Cthulhu? I thought so.
Also, the neverending quest for a magic system that doesn’t use power points continues. Most systems. More ideas. Apparently, people really want this.

It’s a Savage World out there, and Apathy Games provides the tools to survive it. First, check out our Savage Worlds Primer. If you’re looking for more up to date news, here’s what’s happening now:
WARNING: SLOW NEWS WEEK!
It’s Sunday evening as I write this, and the alarms are going off all over the Apathy Games underground news compound. Apparently, there isn’t enough news to meet our quota. Our Emergency Content Commandos have just been deployed to the far reaches of the Internet in order to find information you’ll find interesting. Also, we’ve been forced to terminate two staffers and send apology letters to their next of kin.
Day After Ragnarok: The Movie | Bloodrunsclear
While this may not be real, but we’re forced to wonder “why not?”. Someone had better get on this project, stat.
Shiny New Runepunk Bundles | Reality Blurs
Available directly from the Reality Blurs website, you can now pick from a number of special bundles, including print and PDF verions. Some are for players. Some are for Game Masters. Some are just so complete that you’ll feel, well, like you have everything you might want.
Iron Dynasty Talk | Reality Blurs
Iron Dynasty is a mixture of steampunk concepts and feudal Japan. Think bamboo mecha controlled by samurai. If that piques your interest, then you’ll be glad to hear that two new products are on the way, Iron Dynasty: Art of War, which covers all you need to know about war, and Iron Dynasty: Way of the Ronin, which they claim is some sort of Uber Players Guide.
If all you want is a taste, then check out the first and only adventure released for the setting, Journey to Red Temple. Also, check out a rambling but interesting design diary about the setting.
Yet More Hellfrost Freebies | Triple Ace Games
We know how much you hate free content, but Triple Ace Games refuses to relent. This week, they have given us a collection of new organizations [.pdf] for Hellfrost, as well as the first in what appears to be a series of special locations, this one called The Mammoth Hall [.pdf].
Thrilling Tales Theatre | Adamant Entertainment
Thrilling Tales Theatre is a unique, strange, yet interesting idea. The core is a old, B-movie style video to be used as inspiration, along with a PDF giving rules to the various items and monsters included. This is Chapter 4, with the following tagline:
The Professor’s been brainwashed and works for Unga Khan, and the forces of the Black Robes are attacking the Holy City!
Savage Community
Interviews with Shane and Wiggy | Musings of a Role Playing Troll
Over the last week, R. K. Athey, also known as RPTroll, has conducted two interviews, one with Shane Hensley, the creator of Savage Worlds, and one with Paul ‘Wiggy’ Wade-Williams, super-savage and the man behind Triple Ace Games. Both are quite worth your time.
A Touch of Forum Madness | PEGInc Forums
Some weeks, the forums are full of great stuff, and this happens to be one of those weeks. Savage Mojo has presented a long list of edges from The Garden of Athena Realm, robert4818 was inspired by Eberron to great an Arcane Background for artificing that has lead to discussion, BackSlaSh has begun work on a Planescape conversion, and a very elegant rule for doing a Disarm action as a Trick has been presented. The some of it is this: To attempt a disarm, you perform a trick as normal, but instead of being shaken on a raise, they are disarmed.

Updating your Explorer’s Edition PDF to the Third Printing | PEGinc Forums
If you purchased the PDF version of the Savage Worlds: Explorer’s Edition from RPGNow or DriveThruRPG, getting the updated version can be tricky, and seems to be requiring that you email the store. More information on this, and what is happening, is available in this thread.

Pinnacle Entertainment Group
- John Goff has been appointed to the position of Showdown brand manager. Showdown is a revision of the Savage Worlds ruleset for large scale miniature combat. It strips out some of the more RPG specific rules, streamlines magic a little more, and basically brings Fast, Furious, Fun to the world of war-gaming.
- Brides of Dracula is a new Showdown scenario taking place in a graveyard. The enemy? The many rising undead brides of Dracula and their jealous husband.
Savage Worlds Licensees
- Daring Entertainment has announced it’s 2010 publishing plans. Up first is a 52 week adventure series for Zombie Outbreak called The Armageddon Virus. It will be followed up by a setting book called War of the Dead. The rest of the update included information about the Daring Action Block, a new figure flat series, and the eventual release of Daring Supers.
- Adamant Entertainment has released a new Thrilling Tales adventure, The Malay Coins. Your players will search for seven mysterious coins that will reveal a lost treasure. And that’s just the start of their troubles.
- Plain Brown Wrapper Games has released Bedlam City: Savage Worlds Edition Bedlam City: Savage Worlds Edition. This super hero setting is the darker, grittier brother of your standard super metropolis.
- White Haired Man has revised all of their Fantasy Grounds II adventures for Savage Worlds. If you’re more interested in their D&D3.5/OGL versions, they will be updated soon.
- Savage Mojo has been showing off some of their upcoming Suzerain stuff over at the Pinnacle Forums. Go partake in the conversation, and perhaps check out their fancy editable character sheet
Savage Worlds Community
- There are some new additions to the unofficial Hindrances and Edges over at Savagepedia.
- The Chaos Grenade is a gaming blog that recently fell in love with Savage Worlds. Check out the posts Compairing Healing Surges to Bennies, Savage RIFTS, and his soulful confession of Giving into the Cult of Savage Worlds.
- No community post would be complete without a trip to the Pinnacle Forums. The people there are fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, creative, and a bunch of other great adjectives.
- User Cryonic has created a editable version of the Sundered Skies character sheet. It really is very well done, and looks just like the origional.
- There is a healthy debate going on as to how to make combat more dynamic than two people standing around slugging it out.
- Shield and spear was the classic load-out of your Greek warrior or Roman legionnaire, but many people have problems with the rules surrounding spears and shields.
- Lastly, EruditeDragon and others are working on a detailed psionics power list that’s worth a look.
As always, if we missed something, let us know in the comments. You can follow us on Twitter for more news and commentary.
