Savage Worlds Deluxe Changes: Interludes

Expanding their free rules releases even more, this week we see an update to the interlude rules. These are the rules as they appear in the new Savage Worlds Deluxe.

After a review of them, they are quite brilliant and simple to use and explain. They’ll help quickly enhance the game any time you have a moment of down time.

From Pinnacle:

We continue presenting you the changes from Savage Worlds: Explorer’s Edition to Savage Worlds Deluxe available as PDFs. Today, the new Interludes Rules from Savage Worlds Deluxe are available on our Downloads page.

These rules were originally released in Zombie Run and added as a free web enhancement at the same time. The new Interlude Rules are faster and more flexible, but still just as fun!

These join last week’s posting of the new Chase Rules. Keep watching the homepage as we roll out the rest of the changes in the coming weeks!

Deadlands Miniatures

It’s exciting to see Pinnacle to move into other areas in the Deadlands property, with the Dime Novels and now Miniatures. Unfortunately the pictures are a bit small but the detailing looks pretty good.  Personally I love the look of Reverend Grimme with his book held high, but it may be my personal love of clerics.

From Pinnacle:

The first set of Savage Worlds Miniatures are available on our web store at Studio 2 Publishing. We’re starting out with the most famous faces from our most famous line—Deadlands’ Reckoners!

Don’t miss your chance to cut Reverend GrimmeRavenDr. Darius Hellstromme, and Stone down to size—miniature size, that is! Grab ‘em today!

Two New Pinnacle Novels Released

Personally I’m a bit excited for these, but I’m a huge reader of novels.  As I recently received a Kindle for Christmas, I’ve been gathering ebooks like I’m building a nest out of ‘em.  With Pinnacle announcing the release of these novels and their impending Kindle/iBookstore/Nook/Sony Reader releases, I’m excited to pick these up and enjoy their stories.

The Legend of Kyla Kidd II: Choices

The second part of The Legend of Kyla Kidd finds our heroine searching the oceans, jungles, and towns of Caribdus for the trail of her long-lost father-and his mysterious treasure!

In this part of the tale, Kyla makes new friends in the fantastic world of Caribdus-including a Chinese wind mage, a massive walrus-man, and a vengeful, sleek-skinned Doreen. She’ll need them, because the quest for her father’s mysterious treasure leads her straight between the Royal Navy and the vengeful crew of the Hades Coral!

New Pinnacle Fiction Line

Personally I love good fluff.  An RPG book can be make or break on the fluff of the adventures.  To much, your quickly turned off, to little you’re not invested enough, and for those of you who can’t get enough Pinnacle announced a new line, Fiction.  They’ve culled their writers to produce books by the dozen for their settings.  The latest this week is the trilogy The Legend of Kyla Kidd.

The Legend of Kyla Kidd I: Through the Mists

The world of Caribdus is drowning—cursed by three vengeful Sea Hags. Dozens of island nations have already been destroyed and the races beneath the Shimmering Seas have been ravaged by their drifting ruins and turbulent tides. Through the mists at the center of this catastrophe drifts ships bearing strangers—time-tossed visitors from earth. One of these is Kyla Kidd, fast on the trail of her long-lost father Captain William Kidd. But is she seeking to clear his name? Or find his much-rumored treasure? And is the treasure merely gold and jewels, or something far more amazing… Kyla’s journeys will take her into the heart of the Devil’s Cross—home of the Sea Hags—where she battles betrayal, savage monsters, and horrors beyond imagining in this three-part trilogy written by Tony “Salty Sea Dog” Lee and beautifully illustrated in full-color by Richard “Keelhaulin’” Clark.

Zombie Pirates of the Spanish Main Bundle

Have you been thinking about getting Zombie Pirates?  Been wanting to try out the Spanish Main rpg but just haven’t picked it up yet?  Well now you can get two for the price of one! Pinnacle announced a two for one sale this week, pick up Zombie Pirates and Pirates of the Spanish Main for $29.99.  The Zombie Pirates-Pirates of the Spanish Main Bundle includes the Collector’s Edition of Zombie Pirates, with new challenges, achievements, a Rum Running mini-game, and an all new adventure—”Jack’s Nightmare!”
