I can't make it to the chat, but let the reluctant convert know that I have been playing one version or another of D&D for the last 29 years – and the thing I am looking forward to the most at my very first Gen Con is Savage Saturday Night! I'm even planning on changing my current D&D 4E campaign over to Savage Worlds when the players hit the Epic tier (they are currently 17th level and started all the way back at 1st).

Hopefully next time! We're planning on doing some more.

Are you picking a setting in particular to switch to, if so which one? Also I'm interested, why are you considering switching?

If I could also ask you one small favor, if you could pass this along it would be most appreciated, we're trying to get a full house worth of discussion going!

We'll be sticking with the Forgotten Realms setting and carrying on the current story line (converting characters, etc). I want to switch for several reason, including the mire of current player options that don't seem to add to the fun of the game, the entire sessions we spend resolving a single encounter, and the new direction WotC is taking 4E with their Essentials line – futher muddying the waters with a new class sub-system.

Every game of Savage Worlds I have played has delivered the promised Fast! Furrious! Fun! – including a 9 hour RPG 'tournament' that swapped GMs on us every 3 hours. I've played pulp, fantasy, and even a sci-fi Realms of Cthulhu one-shot (adapting the CthulhuTech universe to Savage Worlds), read through Thrilling Tales and Ravaged Earth (next on my list is Day After Ragnarok), and have yet to be dissapointed.

Pinnacle and their licencees produce high-quality products, and I love the ease of using one system for multiple genres. It is an easy (and fun) game to introduce new players to, and an easy game to prep for when my time is limited.

Oh, and now that WotC has stopped support for its Living Forgotten Realms campaign I am even planning on switching our monthly public game days over to Savage Worlds. More people need to try this amazing game!

I can't make it, as that's actually when my game is. Will there be a summary up? I'm very interested in the epic Boss Fight.

I'll clean up and post the chat itself sometime this week. As for a summary, we'll have to wait and see what comes of it.
