Having Fun Between Delusions – Follow Up

Last week Jeff shared with you a terrible secret. It doesn’t matter what game you play, and we asked you to share with us your most memorable moments around the gaming table. We also mentioned fabulous prizes.

“Armory” Dave Martin from Tabletop Armory, in a shameless act of capitalism that one can’t help but admire, must have bribed our commenters with copies of his soon to be licensed Savage Worlds game, Ardorn Fantasy Role Play (AFRP). He did this to make sure he was mentioned in this week’s post. I expect copies Dave; my readers aren’t the only ones that can be bribed.

Here is what he wrote:

In our current Necessary Evil game I have started a friendly sub-game of playing our action cards at the most inconvenient times for another character or the group as a whole. So far I have played a “Backstab” card to take out another on my omega team just because my character had been knocked out early in the fight and I was bored. It was actually quite funny how I applied it, and the whole group had a great time with what happened because of it.

Later, I played a card that forced the GM to say something along the lines of “$#*% you, Dave!” with a smile on his face and the rest of the group laughing at us because that’s now a phrase that has turned up from the GM to me at most games.

Others have now started saving their action cards for the most inconvenient times for others (especially me), the group as a whole, or the GM. So we have our rpg campaign, and now we have a sub-game using Action Cards that is aimed at a fun, deliberately poking, make each other’s gaming lives harder.
